Impact of COVID-19 on HVAC Operating Systems and Energy Consumption
The current situation raises all sorts of questions among building managers and their tenants. "Can people catch the virus by breathing the air? Is the air filtration system up to the task? Does the system require special maintenance? Will there be additional energy costs?", etc. The information webinar on June 10 organized by Réseau Énergie et Bâtiments, in collaboration with BOMA Quebec, provided some answers to those questions.
Examples of BOMA Canada signage
In the context of the pandemic, effective signage is one of the most important aspects of properly informing and directing people in your buildings. There are several important factors to consider. The signage must clearly and effectively communicate the new sanitary measures put in place in the building, such as compulsory hand washing, wearing a mask, respecting physical distancing, well-defined waiting areas, spaces temporarily closed (showers, bicycle spaces, etc.), the maximum number of people in the elevators, and several other key elements.
