News about the CECRA emergency rent assistance program (based on information obtained from the CMHC during the week of September 7):

- given that the program has been extended to cover the month of September 2020, the possibility of opting for the September extension should be available on the CECRA portal as of September 21;

- as was the case for the July and August extensions, CECRA applicants can apply for the month of September without needing to provide other documents than those already submitted with the initial application; 

- despite indications on the CMHC website stating that the deadline for submitting an application was August 31, 2020, new applications will continue to be accepted until September 30, 2020; 

- CMHC representatives apparently have no further information regarding the Quebec government contribution of 12.5% towards rental costs. The information that is available can be found at:
