A Year of Resilience and Determination
Montreal, 14 April 2021 – The annual general meeting of BOMA Quebec took place on April 8 in virtual format. Dozens of participants attended for news of the Association's state of affairs and to watch a presentation by the entrepreneur Nicolas Duvernois.
"I am extremely proud of how BOMA Quebec has managed to continue to offer its services to members despite the pandemic. Right at the onset all the committees mobilized, responding swiftly with a series of training and information webinars on topics of concern to building and property managers. Seven webinars were presented, providing information on various impacts and constraints imposed by the pandemic," said Annik Desmarteau, president of BOMA Quebec.
Other sessions organized by BOMA Quebec throughout the year featured topics ranging from energy management to standard floor measurement methods, asset management, BIM (building information modelling), changes to Quebec legislation on halocarbons, new energy efficient standards in the building code and financial assistance for upgrading HVAC systems, not to mention our virtual Great Conference featuring Vincent Chiara, president of the MACH Group.
Some 2200 people took part in the Association's virtual get-togethers, and the momentum will continue on May 13 on the occasion of the BOMA Quebec Grand Gala. This unique rendezvous is a time to celebrate the champions of Year 3 of the Building Energy Challenge, as well as buildings recently awarded BOMA BEST certification and the winners of the 17th edition of the BOMA Awards competition.
"I would like to sincerely thank all our BOMA Quebec partners, the Building Energy Challenge, the 85 volunteers and 11 working committees, and our full-time staff as well, all of whom have helped make BOMA Quebec a dynamic and respected organization. Your loyalty and commitment are more important and appreciated than ever."
