This has not been an easy springtime for anyone, and the next few months will continue to present us with their share of challenges, but it looks like it's going to be a lovely summer, so let's take advantage of this period to recharge our batteries and refocus. Already, public health authorities are making concessions and, while continuing to act responsibly, a little levity and enjoyment won't hurt anyone. It's about time.
I recently walked through Place Ville-Marie, as I'm sure many of you have walked through the buildings you are responsible for. My, my… How empty it was, almost breathtakingly empty. It makes us realize how much our buildings are not only business centres, but also places of life, of convergence, of coming together.
After this pause life will resume, something that is already underway. As for BOMA Quebec, new webinars are announced on a regular basis, in line with breaking news and the requests we receive from you. The next one, titled Everything you need to know about the new energy-efficient building code, will take place on July 9 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
We are obviously keeping a close eye on the evolution of Bill 61, notably its impact on commercial leases. If you've not already done so, I invite you to read a recently published article on that matter.
If public health guidelines allow it to be done logically, safely and enjoyably for everyone, we would love to organize a reunion event this summer. It would be really nice, because we miss you! So we'll keep our fingers crossed. To be continued...
In looking forward to having the pleasure of seeing you again soon, I wish you all a wonderful summer full of what you find energizing and stimulating.
Bye for now, dear members of the BOMA Quebec community!
