Wonderful year comes to a close,  a great year in store!

I'd like to take advantage of this last issue of the year to let you know how proud I am of our organization, as well as the BOMA team and the volunteers who support our efforts. I would also like to extend that sentiment to the community of our members - professionals and organizations.

2016 was an eventful year punctuated by grand accomplishments for BOMA Quebec. We are in a festive mood, given that many of our new initiatives and events were very successful. For example, the high level of participation in the BOMA BEST® Earth Day, a unique collaboration that led to concrete, long-lasting actions to greater reduce the environmental impact inherent to building operations. What also springs to mind is our group activities, which continue to draw ever larger numbers of professionals, such as the Bike Tour and the 13-hole VIP Golf Classic, not to mention our 2016 Christmas Party, an unprecedented success that attracted more than 650 participants! Also of note was the real estate Energy Challenge, an important, stimulating project in which we will continue to invest time and energy.

To every one of you, thank you for your engagement and for saying "Yes!" to your association.

Outlook for 2017 very positive, for several reasons.

First of all, our association will reach the venerable of 90. We intend to continue making headway, and to celebrate our anniversary with you.

2017 will also feature the 15^th BOMA Awards competition and its prestigious gala, to be held in May in the Grande Place at Complexe Desjardins. This is a wonderful opportunity to highlight your talents and promote your firm on the provincial and national levels and, for some of you, on the international level. I wish the best of luck to all participants.

Please know, dear members, that you are our raison d’être, our motivating force. We strive to meet your needs and expectations by remaining relevant and useful, attuned to the evolution of our members and our industry. And as for our dear volunteers, our heartfelt and sincere thanks to you for your commitment and your impressive contributions.

By working together we will build a vigorous, high performing industry from one year to the next, driven by a shared, ambitious vision and commitment to excellence, and we pursue that vision by engaging in dialogue with each other. In conclusion, I invite you to let us know your opinions. What are the opportunities and challenges facing our industry in the coming year? It is always a pleasure to read your comments and to hear what you have to say.
