On January 13, 2016, new measures regarding lockout systems and other methods of preventing the transmission or release of energy came into effect for all establishments in an addendum to the Work Health and Safety Regulations (hereafter referred to as RSST).
These provisions nullify Articles 185 and 186 of the RSST and add, to section XXI concerning the safety of machinery, sub-section 188.0 dealing specifically with lockout systems and other methods of energy control. We encourage you to consult the following link for more information:

31 August 2016 - The Quebec Safety Code, Chapter 8, Building (CBCS), which includes the National Fire Code of Canada 2010 (amended), was updated by National Research Council (NRC), publisher of national building codes.
Changes adopted since 2013 have been included in this new edition of the CBCS. These modifications concern:
- Analyses oflegionella pneumophila concentrations in water-cooling towers;
- inclusion in the National Building Code 2010 (amended, Quebec) of a list of applicable standards based on the year of construction; and
- the installation of sprinklers in all private residences for the elderly, with only a few exceptions.

All the new editions contain these recent modifications. Those who already have a print version of the CBCS will receive a notice from the NRC inviting them to download the revisions so that their copy is up to date.

New Option for Ventilating Auxiliary Diesel Tanks Outdoors
