BOMA Quebec recently announced the launch of the 2017 edition of this prestigious biennial competition. The 15th edition will be a special one, as your association will be celebrating with you its 90th anniversary, a very significant achievement. No doubt we'll have many reasons to celebrate our collective successes during the course of the year.
The BOMA Awards pay tribute to excellence, innovation and exceptional sustainable management practices. It is a unifying event that never fails to generate an enthusiastic response among our members, and understandably so. For property management firms and professionals, the BOMA Awards attest to an ongoing commitment to excellence, in addition to being an incredible vehicle for raising the brand image and professional profile (locally and internationally) of the winning firms and participating organizations. In that sense the BOMA Awards, notably the Pinnacle Award, constitute a supplementary marketing tool that helps bolster your firm's position in the market and promote its qualities among clients, tenants, occupants and business partners.
It is an opportunity to see how your firm compares to leading real estate industry players in a galvanizing get-together that creates value for our members, and that is a source of pride for the association with each new edition. In fact, BOMA Quebec is one of the most creative local associations as regards organizing this competition, as we adopt a long-term approach for the benefit of our members and are keen to contribute to their growth and development.
For these and other reasons, we never tire of repeating how we encourage our members to prepare well for the competition, to submit their candidacy in one or more of the categories available. Note that all categories are likely to make your organization eligible for the national competition and, in certain cases the international one as well. It really is a chance not to be missed.
New in 2017
Two new categories are now being offered:
- Public assembly buildings that cover a range of facilities – hotel, convention centre, college/university, etc.
- Multi-use buildings that include spaces in at least three of the following categories: retail, entertainment, housing, hotel accommodations, recreational facilities, etc.
The names of the winners will be announced at the annual gala, which will take place on May 10, 2017 in the Grande Place at Complexe Desjardins under honorary president Viviane Garneau, vice-president Real Estate, Procurement and Administration at Mouvement Desjardins. You will also be treated to a musical concert by the extremely talented Gregory Charles, who will be a featured guest at the event. It promises to be a very exciting evening.
All details about the BOMA Awards competition are available here . Note that buildings must have BOMA BEST® certification to be eligible. Yet another good reason to take that additional step.
We look forward to seeing you at the awards gala, and good luck to one and all!
