Illumination of the Sun Life Building

At dusk, beginning tonight through to March 11, the Sun Life Building will be participating in the Montréal en lumière event by illuminating the upper part of its imposing architecture.

This partial lighting will draw attention to the exceptional nature of this icon of Montreal’s built heritage by projecting changing colours and lighting intensities directly above the 60-foot Corinthian columns that grace the building’s facades, starting at the 17th floor. The lighting effects were designed as part of a sustainable development process featuring economic energy sources, high-performance spotlights, and respect for the architectural heritage, among other things.

Permanent lighting designed to showcase the entire building will be completed as of June in time to highlight Montreal’s 375th and Canada’s 150th anniversary celebrations and… to spotlight this architectural gem, which will be celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2018!
