Place Ville Marie among the participants in the BOMA BEST pilot project for smart buildings

TORONTO, ON, April 15, 2021 – The Building Owners and Managers Association of Canada (BOMA Canada) announced today the launch of the BOMA BEST Smart Buildings (Link) Certification Program’s Pilot Project. This certification sets a global standard for how smart buildings are measured, while also providing users with a roadmap to drive further asset enhancement and investment.  Drawing on the success of BOMA BEST Sustainable Buildings, which has 3,100 certifications around the world, the program will kick off with over a dozen premier buildings across North America as pilot certification sites. BOMA BEST Smart Buildings is positioned to drive tenant experience, sustainability, the bottom line, and does so by considering six key indicators:

  1. Artificial Intelligence
  2. Cyber and Physical Security
  3. Data Management
  4. Connectivity
  5. Health and Well-being
  6. Sustainability

BOMA Canada is proud to announce that the following buildings will be included in the pilot:

BOMA BEST Smart Buildings fills a gap in the market,” said Thano Lambrinos, Vice President, Smart Building Technology & Digital Innovation at QuadReal and Chair of the BOMA BEST Smart Buildings Advisory Council.  “Nothing exists quite like this exciting new program which is poised to organize and standardize the very notion of a smart building and, thereby, enable us to measure how our buildings are performing, and how they can perform in the future.”
