The offices of ENGIE Services located at 550 Sherbrooke St. West officially received BOMA BEST® Sustainable Workplace certification on May 10! We are proud to be the second firm in Quebec to have received this new version of BOMA BEST® certification. The traditional version is already firmly established among our clients.
What does this mean? The certification encompasses environmental impacts that are under a tenant's control. ENGIE Services is committed to taking environmental criteria into account for all activities carried out on its premises and to set annual objectives, measure performance and improve from year to year.
We have already implemented best practices in our Montreal office: follow-up on energy consumption, eco-friendly products for the kitchen, computer equipment that is certified Energy Star, responsible recycling of electronic waste, using paper from sustainable forests, etc.
However, there is still room for improvement, such as reducing our consumption of paper, using environmentally friendly modes of transportation, improving our criteria for purchases of office furniture, etc.
Employees at our administrative centre in Montreal receive training to learn about how they can contribute to improving our environmental performance, and employees elsewhere have access to this training on demand. This is only an initial step, for our ambition is to extend these practices to all our activities and all our worksites!
