The Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec and its subsidiary CDPQ Infra have started work on an electric, fully automated light rail transit network 67 kilometres long that will include 26 stations. This new (Metropolitan Express Network) REM integrated network will connect downtown Montreal with the South Shore, the West Island, the North Shore and the Montreal international airport, offering frequent and reliable service 20 hours a day, 7 days a week. The CDPQ Infra representative will outline the major issues facing this project, such as technological choices and design and implementation options, as well as the constraints in terms of track layout and the purchase of landholdings in an urban environment. He will also discuss the potential impact on property values of such a project, and the development opportunities for properties near the TOD stations (Transit Oriented Development). He will conclude with a practical value creation application.

Speaker: Louis Trudel, Directeur immobilier, CDPQ Infra
