About Steven Guilbeault

Steven Guilbeault’s commitment to the environment did not come overnight. Having cofounded Équiterre in 1994, he served as its spokesperson and senior director from 2008 to 2018.

A leading voice in the media, both as a guest expert and a commentator, Steven has focused on environmental issues and climate change since the early 1990s.

In 2009 the French magazine Le Monde called him one of the world’s 50 leading actors in the field of sustainable development. He has received a number of awards and distinctions, including the Médaille de l’Université de Montréal in 2012 and the Senate 150th Anniversary Medal in 2018. 

Steven Guilbeault is now a senior consultant at COPTICOM Strategy and Public Relations. He is also a strategic consultant for Cycle Capital Management, a clean-technology venture capital fund.
